There is always room for kindness. It doesn’t take much effort. A smile for someone who is not smiling even when you don’t feel like smiling. It’s contagious. Give it a try. And mostly be kind to yourself. Give yourself some slack. Remember how far you’ve come and how much easier it is to get to where we’re going when we’re together. But at age 42 I wanted to believe it wasn’t too late to be kind to myself. Although old habits die hard, I decided to try.
